Wow, I didn’t realize my previous post was private (which it shouldn’t have been) so there you go. More stuffs.
Anyway, I was out getting lunch and there must have been at least FIVE, yes count them, FIVE charity organizations guarding doors into the stores that I entered and exited. You know, the people with the baskets selling car ointments, cookies and chocolates. It was “scary”. Especially to those who like helping people. Lately, I have been fighting the urge to help too much. But I have never seen so many people. Even one charity pitched a tent as if they were setting up a base of operations.

Perhaps they got word that Kaleem Maxwell got himself a student loan which he needs mostly for food and transportation for school? Not sure how. Maybe Anti-K-Max Media Entertaiment told them? www.anti-kmaxmedia.com? I didn’t know there was a media company documenting my every move.

Anyway, those who know me personally know that I want to help, however, I need to help myself so that when I start earning my millions, I can help far more than I am able to right now. So I hope most understand. But one thing they are is persistent. They will be successful and I wish them the best.

In the meantime as I am working on getting ready for my last 2 midterms this week, I am reading “Trump: The Art of the Deal” by The Donald. I finally got my hands on it and since it was a paperback, for a few dollars, it was a good deal. I should get the book done in about 7-10 days since I read it every time I’m on the bus. Then you’ll see if it’s a Deal or No Deal.

The route to school….

The K-Box (Rants), September 26th, 2006, 5:34 pm

Well, I am still trying to figure out this thing with the bus routes to Humber College. I’m currently looking at 3 ways to the school. (All which would take at least 75 minutes each way.). In th end, I regret 2 things:

1. Not getting a car.

2. Not taking advantage when one was offered to me.

Of course I had no idea of how bad public transit was in my neck of the woods. That is the woods where 98% of residents HAVE CARS. Of course back then I’d thought I’d get a job to be able to get a car. Call me bitter. Yes.

Sure, I can do graphical art, web pages, programming, C-class voice work, destop publishing, producing, writing, presentation, jokes and yes, I do windows… and linux. But, one can’t please all. That’s the tough part. That’s proabably any artist or workaholic needs to remember. I remember back in Grade 13 when I tried doing it all, working out, part-time work, basically getting up at 7am to take a 45 minute bus ride to school for a full day, then go to part time work, then somehow fit in extra-curricular work, working out and still trying to keep a good relation with the family. Sounds familiar?

Then the body started sending messages and eventually I eased up, it still wasn’t functioning then fortunetly after the pains inside the body intensified, I finally listened. Perhaps those choices in trying to do all you can wasn’t the best thing. Meh, but I tell ya, once first year of University began and I was living on campus, oddly enough, I slept most of the time but it was sure as heck easier than my last year of high school.

But dayum… you work hard to get busy, now you get TOO MUCH of it. Meh, I suppose you can’t win, except getting all of those… colorful bills with numbers that you can put inside the bank machines.

So, who want’s a piece of me? I dunno if there’s much left. Heh. On a side note, I had a great time at Laura Binetti and Melanie Horton’s bodybuilding show last week doing photos and producing coverage for Northern Physique there. I try not to miss it every year since it’s in the city. The only difference this year was that the show was the same weekend as Anime North. Yes, the same con I covered in 2001, 2002, 2004 and ran a video team in 2005 who this year had their tenth con. But seeing as I need breaks in multiples of 3, I went with the former. But yeah, non-stop.

More later.

Ok, am I not the only person who’s tired of hearing how or why our Men’s Hockey team if finished and will not get a medal? Yeah, it was a depressing moment but it’s reality. I know some Canadian TV networks tried to soften the blow with the “Good News / Bad News” lead, but we can take it.

I’m just really irrate as to how it overshadows how our Women’s Hockey Team’s achievement. I mean freakin REPEAT of Olympic Champions. How sweet is that? In Vancouver 4 years from now you could be looking at a 3-PEAT. But meh, they only get a fair amount of attention, while the men, who lose in the quarter-finals get TONS and TONS of minutes of critiques, analysis, rants, er— yeah including this one rant by me and er— .

Yah! In fact looking at this list by the CBC here, seems that the women’s side (in 12 events) is bringing in more medals home than the men’s side (in around 4 events) lead by the most metalic gal of the team, Cindy Klassen with 4 medals (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze).

I have to give a pat on the back at the guys at CBC News: The Hour for bringing in Justine Blaney for an interview. I had no idea about this gal who basically stood up as a kid who wanted to play among the boys. I mean, if you’re good enough to play, then I don’t see why not. She wasn’t allowed to do so in the Ontario Hockey Association a while back and it sparked a national debate on equality of access to sport. In the end, the case went to the Supreme court of Canada and because of our Charter of rights and freedoms, they upheld the protection of equality and she was able to play.

In reality, this set the evolution of today Women’s Hockey Program and of course many of young girls like her back are now playing in leagues with no fear. I think in excess of 60,000 women now. So now, we have a lot of awesome women playing hockey.

Why be so depressed at the result of the men? I think this is what they need because they didn’t play with the intensity in Salt Lake City. They’ll have a lot to prove in 2010 when the games come back to Canada, home of Hockey Night in Canada, the world will be in our rinks playing our game. You can bet they’ll be lots of motivation for the Hockey Men’s team in 2010.

Good Friday = Good Spring?

The K-Box (Rants), March 25th, 2005, 2:45 pm

Hi All,

What a good friday it is. Spring is here. The snow is still here. It’s always good talking about media on K-Max’s Media Blog. I do have some ideas and topics to talk about in the upcoming weeks, there’s a couple of deals in the works that can literally change what you think is the kmaxmedia.com site. Yes, they’re taking a while, a long while.

What? You’re used to the quick and fast paced updates taking place? Well, that was a one month deal. Besides, we still have been ad-free in the 4 and so years we’ve been running. That will change in some aspect, but I don’t want to wet your whistle just yet. But SOON! I will.

In the meantime, spring is upon us once again, people are going to be enjoying the many easter eggs. But the past 4 years that I’ve been at school, one thing’s always got me is that the Easter Weekend keeps getting earlier though… it seemed last year it was on a good date during the wamer days. Again… the studying and the drawing, and YES, I can draw…. to most people’s dismays. But, I’ve always remembered easter to be COLD! I mean, this long weekend from today to including Monday was made to enjoy the first days of the nicer weather. Well, at least in my area in Canada. Earlier Easters have always been like this, but , according to this page:

Easter is the Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon. The Paschal Full Moon may occur from March 21 through April 18, inclusive. Thus the date of Easter is from March 22 through April 25, inclusive. The date of the Paschal full moon is determined from tables, and it may differ from the date of the the actual full moon by up to two days.

And here I thought easter was the same week. When I was arranging a photo shoot with someone, I mentioned about today and they told me about this being a holiday which was a suprise to me because I always linked good warm/mild weather with chocolate with Easter. That reminds me… (writes on list) get… easter… egg… chocolate… good… wait… need… to… reduce.. waist… size… need… to.. get.. in… shape… thus…. egg… whites… shall… do.

Ok, back to the blog. Hum… well now that I know when the next time’s Easter Holiday is… April 16., 2006… hopefully WARM weather will be there and I can enjoy the holiday as when I was a kid, OUTSIDE and with plenty of easter eggs.

Until then, I shall plot out my next entry which will be even more hilarious than this one. So be sure you eat up! Happy Easter!
